Learning without limits

Our tuition is delivered in small groups (no more than 4) with one to one support when needed. We are thrilled as we have recently expanded our provision to offer either in person (in our Newquay centre) or online.

Our Tutoring Provision

Primary Tuition

English and maths tuition following our bespoke MagiKats programme delivered by fully qualified tutors through a variety of playful, engaging strategies. We focus on developing the fundamental building blocks (skills and knowledge) needed to ensure your child transitions to the next level feeling confident.

As part of our tuition, we offer optional core work to be completed at home, which helps your child close any gaps in their learning and develop their fluency skills.

Secondary Tuition

English and maths tuition at your child’s pace using a range of strategies as we all learn differently. Our tuition is designed to not only improve your child’s knowledge and understanding of a topic but also develop transferrable study skills, problem solving skills, thinking skills and social skills. As part of our tuition, we offer optional core work to be completed at home, which helps your child close any gaps in their learning and develop their fluency skills.

Home Schooling

Are you home schooling your child? We offer daytime sessions for home schooled children for English and maths. Rest assured our tuition sessions range from Year 1 up to Year 11, so they can supplement your home schooling and support the National Curriculum objectives. You can get regular written feedback stating what topics your child has covered. In addition to the weekly session with a tutor, we provide a weekly home learning pack which includes a range of worksheets for them to complete focusing on core skills (this is optional and varies depending on your child’s individual needs).

SATs Preparation

SATs is an abbreviation for Standard Assessment Tests delivered in Year 6 for both English and maths. At MagiKats in Cornwall, we have a specially designed SATs revision program to help your child practice and prepare for the SATs, so they feel confident sitting them.

GCSE Preparation

GCSEs are the first formal exams which record your child’s academic ability and potential. We have a specially designed GCSE program which supports the individual to solidify their understanding and practise exam technique whilst also developing transferrable study skills, problem solving skills, thinking skills and social skills. All important for beyond school.

Out of School (Alternate Provision)

We firmly believe that every individual deserves access to an outstanding education, and we work with local schools, local authorities and families to support students who are not attending school fully.

The best learning experiences come from having fun while doing it! That’s why our approach focuses on taking small steps to help students who, for medical or physical reasons, may find it challenging to access traditional schooling. We support their journey towards reintegrating into a suitable educational environment, fostering the joy in learning.

I look forward to welcoming you to MagiKats in Cornwall. I set up MagiKats in Newquay in 2020 after leaving my formal teaching role as I wanted to focus on something more personal.

As educators, my team and I recognise the importance of spending time getting to know each individual child and how to support them best for academic and personal growth.
