A new MagiKats private tuition centre is about to open in Loughborough and will be both a valuable resource for local parents and a great opportunity for school children in the area. The centre will be run by Sarah Shaw and the centre is accepting student enrolments now for any children in or near to Loughborough.
If you don’t know it, MagiKats offers out-of-school tutoring in reasoning, maths and English for any child from pre-school to GCSE. Weekly, interactive workshops help children and teenagers improve their subject skills and study skills. The workshops support the school curriculum and provide a core skills development programme. With study skills, thinking skills and problem-solving skills included at every level, the effect of the MagiKats programmes spreads across all subjects.
MagiKats believes that all children are different and so each MagiKats child is provided with their own tailored programme to follow. The MagiKats programmes also work on developing the child’s confidence and giving them positive learning experiences which they may not always get in school.
Sarah is a fantastic addition to the MagiKats team. She is a primary school teacher with 9 years’ experience. She also used to tutor for MagiKats while studying to become a teacher and describes herself as committed to supporting all children to achieve their full potential. You’ll find her approachable, hardworking and passionate about improving children’s education.
Sarah is excited about the potential of the new centre and determined to provide support to children in the area. She explains what makes MagiKats so appealing to parents and why the MagiKats’ approach works so well,
“The MagiKats ethos is that children learn better when they feel safe, valued, listened to and part of a team. This means it may not be a quick-fix because it takes time for children to achieve their goals. The MagiKats two-strand approach allows children to master the basics and address any gaps in their knowledge, while keeping on top of what they are currently learning in school through support from our mentors. The Loughborough centre offers a relaxed and friendly learning environment where the pressure is off, enabling children to learn at their own pace and in a way that works for them. I am here to support both children and their parents, offering feedback and advice on a regular basis to promote progress.”
Sarah has lived in East Leake for two and a half years and has family in the area. She’s a mum herself to a baby son and loves nothing better than going for long walks and hanging out at her local baby support group.
